Give context to your design with Simurban
Simurban lets you combine your CAD models, ground textures and terrain data then fly around it in user-friendly realtime 3D. Unlike trying to do this in a CAD package, Simurban has very clever paging so that you can import enourmous amounts of data into one simulator.
Use Simurban for concepts, design analysis and marketing
Simurban is useful for the entire project lifecycle. Use your simulator for conceptual design so that you can see context and view it from every angle. Use friendly tools like the block model builder to draw polygons onto the landscape and extrude them to a height so you can see the impact of different shapes. You can have different CAD models on their own layers and turn them on and off at the press of a button - it makes decisions a lot easier when you can fly over the site and show every option in realtime.
Unlike fly-throughs, you can interact with the simulated world. When it becomes time to submit your design to the authorities, you can provide the simulator as part of your application so that they can use it for assessing impact, shadows, sightlines and more.
When your design is approved, you can use the simulator for marketing by showing potential buyers the view from their window or what it will look like when built.
Import industry standard formats
Simurban accepts CAD models in 3DS and VRML format, and most other formats can convert to these standards. Even if you are unable to provide these formats, we can usually find a way of converting to them. You can bring in ground textures in TIF and BMP with existing georeferences or you can register them on the fly. Terrain can be created from DXF, DWG, and XYZ points.
Other great features
You can use a 3D tape measure to check building heights and distances, export pictures and movies, develop your own features with our API, and lots of other things.
